Continuing on from last week’s post, Skin’s Secret Smoothie, here is another entirely alchemised recipe that nourishes from the inside out.
As well as the obvious -drinking plenty of water, being sun smart, reducing your exposure to chemical products and internal/external stressors- including antioxidant rich foods in your diet can help to slow the aging process by preventing oxidation and neutralising free radicals in the body.
This beauty smoothie is overflowing with perfectly plumping good fat’s, blood building vitamins and animating antioxidants. One of these a day will have you looking, and more importantly, feeling, like the beautiful being that you are!
1/4 cup beetroot juice
1/2 cup frozen berries
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/4 cup coconut milk (freeze in ice cube trays if you remember)
1 cup coconut water
Optional 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Juice the beetroot. Place the beet juice, frozen berries, chia, protein powder, coconut milk and water into the bender and blitz. To make this smoothie lighter, substitute the coconut milk with fresh orange juice and a few ice cubes.
